<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lithium battery that is easier to manufacture, reduced in cost, has high sensitivity and has a safety valve capable of adjusting pressure timely. <P>SOLUTION: The lithium battery includes: a battery case which has an electrode assembly, a bottom wall and a plurality of side walls extending upward orthogonally to the bottom wall, the bottom wall and the plurality of side walls being formed enclosing a housing space for housing the electrode assembly and a sealing opening; an electrolyte charged between the electrode assembly and the battery case; and a battery lid for sealing the electrode assembly and the electrolyte in the housing space. A grooved safety valve is disposed on at least one side wall of the lithium battery case, and provided at a place close to a corner part of the side wall, and the distance between the safety valve and sealing opening is set to be equal to or less than a quarter as long as the distance between the sealing opening and the bottom wall. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
