<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an active matrix substrate that facilitates repair processing and prevents a gate signal line and a common electrode from being short-circuited in the repair processing. <P>SOLUTION: A substrate 10 includes an upper layer electrode 14 and a lower layer electrode 12 provided through an interlayer dielectric 13. The upper layer electrode 14 is a common electrode, and slits 141 are intermittently formed between adjacent pixels 2 in the upper layer electrode 14.
