The invention relates to a screen device which can be used to screen a fibrous-material suspension (S). The device is provided with an inlet chamber (4) for said fibrous-material suspension (S), with at least one screen basket (1) that is inserted in a housing and that surrounds a screen chamber (5). One portion of the fibrous-material suspension (S) that is conducted into this screen chamber (5) passes the screen openings and enters, as accepted material (A), into an accepted material chamber (3), while another portion of the fibrous-material suspension (S) is deflected at these screen openings. In its interior, the screen device comprises a hydraulic connection through which one portion of the rejected material that was deflected at the screen basket can be conducted back into the inlet chamber (4) as a reject partial flow (R'), and can enter once again into the region of said screen openings. In a particularly advantageous embodiment, this reject partial flow (R') is conducted back through a cylindrically-shaped rotor shell (13) that is open at both end-faces, with the aid of an axial conveyor which rotates with the rotor (9).
