摘要 An IPS(In-Plane Switching) mode LCD is provided to prevent disinclination lines from being generated at an upper portion and a lower portion of an opening region, and to increase the brightness of pixels by improving the structures of common electrodes and pixel electrodes. A plurality of gate lines(216) are formed in one direction above a first substrate. A plurality of data lines(217) cross the gate lines to define a plurality of pixel regions, wherein each of the data lines has a bent structure. A switching element(T) is formed at each of crossing portions of the gate lines and the data lines. At least one pair consisting of a first common electrode(208) and a pixel electrode(218) generates a horizontal field. A second common electrode(208') is adjacent to the data line, wherein the second common electrode has a bent structure. A first common line and a second common line are respectively connected to one side and the other side of the second common electrode. A common electrode connecting line is disposed on the second common line, and connected to one side of the first common electrode. A first extending portion(218E) is formed at one end of the pixel electrode, wherein the extending portion overlaps the second common line. A second connecting portion(E'') connects the second common electrode and the first common line. A second substrate is oppositely bonded to the first substrate.
