COMPOSITIONS AND METHODS FOR MONITORING AND DETECTING CANCEROUS CONDITIONS

A method for monitoring or detectinga prostate condition in a subject comprises determining Engrailed-2 (EN2) gene, Paired Box 2 (PAX2) gene, and/or beta defensin-1 (DEFBl) gene expression levels in a biological sample from the subject. The expression levels of EN2, PAX2 and/or DEFBl gene are correlated with cancerous, pre-cancerous, or non-cancerous prostate conditions.
