<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a scanner light source unit which can maintain a state where a substrate on which a light source is mounted without increasing the number of components and a light guide body are prevented from floating and are fixed and to provide an imager reader including the unit, and an image forming device. <P>SOLUTION: A scanner light source unit 11 includes a substrate 2 having a light source 1 which irradiates an original 6 with light; and a light guide body 3 which guides the light radiated from the light source 1 to an irradiation region of the original 6. The unit also includes a cover 4 which is fixed to the substrate 2 and consists of an elastic body for sandwiching and holding the light guide body 3 with the substrate 2.
