Provided are a tolerance ring, a hard-disk device, and a method for manufacturing the hard-disk device capable of suppressing rotation of a carriage in relation to a pivot shaft and improving assembly precision. A tolerance ring (8) formed using a plate-shaped member and having a ring shape that substantially circles along a predetermined direction, provided with a plurality of convex portions (81a) protruding in the radial direction; wherein by having a notch (81b) cut out in the direction perpendicular to the peripheral direction from at least one outer-edge end portion, which is an outer-edge end portion in the direction perpendicular to the peripheral direction, when the pivot shaft catches on the convex portions (81a) when inserted inside the tolerance ring (8), even if the diameter of the end of the tolerance ring (8) on the pivot-shaft insertion side is expanded, the end on the side opposite the insertion side is prevented from floating in response to the expansion, and rotation of the carriage in relation to the pivot shaft can be inhibited. |
