The fan (18) has a motor drive unit (20) connected with an impeller (17) for driving the impeller. The impeller includes a wheel disk (22), at which impeller blades (24) are arranged. A wheel covering (28) i.e. ring, is arranged on a side (27) of the blades in an axial direction (A) of the impeller in a visible manner, and includes an air inlet opening (29). The blades are partially covered at the side in the axial direction. The covering is fixedly connected with the blades. A radius of the air inlet opening lies between 30% and 70% preferably between 40% and 60%, of a radius of the covering.
