PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image processing device and an image processing method for intelligibly notifying whether a subject is in an appropriate range.

SOLUTION: An image processing device comprises: a depth acquisition unit that acquires a depth information piece of a subject included in a captured image; an image combining unit that combines the subject with an image object having a depth information piece in accordance with the respective depth information pieces; and an effect processing unit that executes effect processing according to the depth information piece of the subject.
