<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To create a color separation table in which a granular sense can be suppressed by improving granularity. <P>SOLUTION: When creating a color separation table of an image forming apparatus including a relatively deep-color material of which the relative density is high and a relatively light-color material of which the relative density is low, a hue boundary limiting usage of the relatively deep-color material is set for each hue and from the basic color separation table, a lattice point is determined which satisfies the condition where a preset color material value of the relatively deep-color material is not zero and a color value reproduced by the preset color material value is in a lighter domain than the hue boundary (S701-S706).
