<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an operation display unit capable of appropriately displaying information regarding a device, and an image forming apparatus having the operation display unit. <P>SOLUTION: A first operation part 81 is provided at an upper part of a second operation part 86, and has a display part 82. The display part 82 is so called, a liquid crystal display, and has a function as a'touch panel' capable of specifying a position on a screen by touching the screen with a finger or an exclusive pen. A guide part 85 moves the first operation part 81 forward and backward to the second operation part 86 along the direction of an arrow AR1. A control part 90 is provided at a lower part of a paper ejection part 50, and attains operation control, and data operation of the respective elements of an image forming apparatus 1.
