<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and a composition enhancing the functions of stem cells. <P>SOLUTION: This method for treatment of injury in blood cells includes a treatment of damaged blood cell in a subject having an injured hematopoietic stem cell by making the hematopoietic stem cell contact with the expression of P2Y14 receptor or an effective amount of a biological activity controlling agent. The stem cells include those in the mesenchyme, skin, nerves, intestines, liver, heart, prostate, mammary gland, kidney, pancreas, retina, and lungs. An inhibitory nucleic acid molecule is an antisense molecule, low molecular weight interfering RNA (siRNA) or low molecular weight hairpin RNA (shRNA). The method can increase the survival, growth, or proliferation of the stem cells in blood and/or implanted and protect the injured stem cell as a treatment or a preventive method. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
