<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical fiber cable which is coated with a sheath having sufficient mechanism strength and hardness, is free from bleed out in the sheath, allows the sheath to be easily stripped therefrom, and allows easy terminal processing. <P>SOLUTION: An optical fiber cable 1 includes a body part 2 in which a coated optical fiber 5 and tension members 6 disposed in parallel with the coated optical fiber are collectively coated with a sheath 7 into a rectangular shape. The sheath is formed of a resin composition containing 100 pts.mass of polyolefin resin (a) and 20 to 150 pts.mass of non-halogen flame retardant (b) but not containing a transitional lubricant substantially. The resin composition has a die swell of 3 or less, and the sheath has a Shore D hardness of 57 or more and a tensile strength of 15 MPa or more, and a strip force for stripping the sheath from the coated optical fiber is 1 N/cm or less. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
