[Problem] To provide an image processing apparatus for generating an image that allows an object of interest to be distinguished from other objects. [Solution] An image processing unit (15) calculates, with respect to echo signals read from a sweep memory (14), the percentage of ones, which exhibit a predetermined level or higher levels, of a predetermined sample number or less number of echo signals, and generates image data having display elements in accordance with the calculated percentage. This percentage will be small if the object of interest is an isolated object, such as a ship or the like, while the percentage will be large if the object of interest is an object existing as a large mass like an inland. The image processing unit (15) acquires color values (R, G, B values) in accordance with the calculated percentage. An object of interest that is a ship or the like is an isolated object and hence would have a color value of red because of a small percentage, while an inland is an object existing as a large mass and hence would have a color value of green because of a large percentage. |
