摘要 <p>PURPOSE: A liquid crystal display apparatus and a driving method thereof are provided to lower the power consumption and heat generation of the data driving circuit and to invert the polarity of data voltage between the adjacent blocks, thereby preventing the degradation of image quality. CONSTITUTION: A liquid crystal display panel(10) crosses the data lines and gate lines, and forms the pixel array which includes the liquid crystal cells, which is arranged in a matrix form. A data driving circuit(12) converts the digital video data into a cathode/anode gamma compensation voltage and produces the data voltage. The data driving circuit supplies the data lines and responses to a polarity control signal, and inverts the polarity of data voltage. A gate driving circuit(14) consecutively supplies the gate pulse to the gate lines. A ODC(Over Driving Control) processing unit modulates the digital video data into the predetermined overdriving modulation value. A timing controller(20) controls the operation timing of data driving circuit and gate driving circuit, and supplies the digital video data which is modulated by the ODC processing unit to the data driving circuit. The ODC processing unit controls the polarity of data voltage which is supplied to the liquid crystal display panel by using polarity control signal.</p>
