<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus able to restrict a temperature rise of an area where a recording material has not passed through a fixing part, without decreasing operation efficiency and complicating a structure. <P>SOLUTION: In the image forming apparatus having a double-side conveyance path and capable of double-sided printing, in order to pass a recording material S through an area that includes the area where the recording material S has not passed through the heating area of the fixing nip part when the turning aside of the recording material S is detected during single-sided printing, the double-sided conveyance path is selected as the conveyance path of the recording material S passed through the fixing part. In addition, using turning-aside means 400, a conveyance path for the recording material S is altered to a conveyance path turning aside opposite to the side where it turned aside previously, and the recording material S is passed through the fixing part without image formation by an image forming part. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
