This heat exchanger is provided with refrigerant tubes (16a) in which refrigerant (RF) that absorbs heat from air (AR) flows, and defrosting medium tubes (43a) in which cooling water (WT) for supplying heat for defrosting flows. Two fins (50) positioned on either side of a refrigerant tube have protruding sections (50b) that protrude toward the upstream side of the flow of air (AR). The protruding sections (50b) form a gap (50d) that enables melt water produced by defrosting to flow on the upstream side of the refrigerant tubes. The refrigerant tubes (16a) and the defrosting medium tubes (43a) can be alternatively positioned in an upstream line. The protruding sections (50b) protrude in such a manner as to enable air to be introduced from the sides of a protruding section (50b) to an air passage, even if an end (50c) facing the upstream side of the flow of air (AR) is blocked with a lump of frost. |
