The valve (1) has a rotary disk (2) actuated by an expanding material element (10) e.g. wax element, and controlling a flow rate of the valve. The material element includes an expanding material filling i.e. wax, which experiences a volume enlargement during temperature increase such that a translatory movement of the material element or sections of the material element is produced. A spring element i.e. pressure spring, is arranged at or integrated in the material element. An effective direction of the spring element is aligned against an expansion direction of the material filling.
