The present invention is a battery module (1) provided with a battery cell (301) in which a power generation element (115) including an electrolyte is sealed within exterior members (113, 114). The battery module (1) is provided with: a battery information management unit which includes an electronic component that manages information relating to the battery cell (301); and a detection unit (401) which detects tampering in the battery module (1), and if tampering is detected by the detection unit (401), the battery information management unit assumes a state in which battery information cannot be output to outside of the battery module (1). It is therefore possible to provide a battery module having high reliability as a reused item.
