<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide notification of a failure of a nonvolatile memory in which start programs including firmware are recorded when the nonvolatile memory has failed, without requiring a redundant configuration of the nonvolatile memory. <P>SOLUTION: When a first system storage area 10010 fails to be mounted during the start of controller software 10019, a CPU 33 executes update software 10014 to obtain a program file related to the controller software.
