<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a laminator with improved thermal performance. <P>SOLUTION: A laminator has a heating chamber 20 holding two pairs of laminating rollers 22-25. A sheet material is supplied along a planar path 28 between these laminating rollers 22-25. The two rollers 22-25 arranged on each side of the planar path 28 have heating elements 32 and 33 and heat conduction bars 34 and 35, respectively. The heat conduction bars 34 and 35 are disposed one for each of opposing sides of the planar path 28 between the roller pairs 22-25. The heat conduction bars 34 and 35 are disposed by keeping away from the heating elements 32 and 33, and heated mainly by the radiant energy. Heat shields 26 and 27 are disposed one piece for each to opposing both sides of the planar path 28, and turn the radiant energy to the rollers 22-25.
