PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable detailed information about video content currently in broadcast to be input into the peripheral device of a receiver.

SOLUTION: A receiver 20 includes: a broadcast receiving part 21 for receiving, from a broadcast transmitting device 10, video content and BML information including related information related to the content of the video content at a certain clock-time and instruction for causing the related information to be transmitted to peripheral devices; and a related information transmission part 26 for transmitting the related information contained in the BML information according to the instruction contained in the BML information received by the broadcast receiving part 21.
