<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus that suppresses consumption of toner and components of image formation to reduce time taken for correcting a color shift. <P>SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus includes: an intermediate transfer belt 17; an image forming section 1 for forming a toner image on the intermediate transfer belt 17; a storage section 51 for holding data showing a first detection pattern for coarse adjustment of the color shift and a second detection pattern for fine adjustment of the color shift; and a control section 50 for forming the first detection pattern or the second detection pattern on the intermediate transfer belt 17 by the image forming section 1 to perform a correction control of the color shift. When the control section 50 starts the correction control of the color shift, the control section 50 causes the image forming section 1 to form the first detection pattern or the second detection pattern on the intermediate transfer belt 17 and determines whether or not a color shift larger than the color shift detectable by the second detection pattern is generated from the formed first detection pattern or second detection pattern. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
