The method involves providing a cylindrical silicon crystal with a longitudinal axis (3). Several parallel saw sections are introduced into the silicon crystal so as to manufacture the silicon discs (9). The saw sections are aligned parallel to the longitudinal axis. The spacing between two adjacent saw sections is set to 1cm. An independent claim is included for silicon wafer.
