<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a magnetic encoder with a thin detection surface. <P>SOLUTION: According to the present invention, there is provided a magnetic encoder comprising a substance to be detected, a case arranged facing the substance to be detected, and a magnet and a magnetic sensor stored in the case. In the magnetic encoder, a facing wall section of the case that faces the substance to be detected comprises a thick section, and a thin section having smaller thickness than the thick section. The thick section and the thin section are formed of an integrated member. The magnetic sensor is arranged at the thin section. According to the present invention, the facing wall section is reinforced by the thick section, and the thin section can be thinner sufficiently to obtain desired sensor detection sensitivity by grinding. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
