This method for forming a protective film for touch panel electrodes is characterized in that a protective film, which has a thickness of 10 mum or less and is formed of a cured product of a photosensitive resin composition, is formed so as to cover a part or the whole of a touch panel electrode by: forming a photosensitive layer that is formed of the photosensitive resin composition, which contains a binder polymer having a carboxyl group and an acid value of 30-120 mgKOH/g, a photopolymerizable compound having at least three ethylenically unsaturated groups and an acid value of 5 mgKOH/g or less and a photopolymerization initiator, on a base that has the touch panel electrode; curing a predetermined part of the photosensitive layer by irradiation of an active light ray; and then removing parts of the photosensitive layer other than the predetermined part.
