The system (1) has a housing (3) forming a holder for a container (2) and a fastening device for installation in a passenger compartment of a motor car (4). The housing is designed as a cup holder. A heating device (10) and/or a cooling device (11) heats or cools a product i.e. beverage, in the container. The heating device and/or the cooling device co-act with a control unit (5), which is connected with a temperature sensor (6) for detection of outer container wall temperature. The control unit automatically controls a heating or cooling process dependent on the wall temperature.
