<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To shorten a period of time from receiving an instruction of booting-up to beginning reception of a user operation. <P>SOLUTION: A controller of a recording device starts storing a boot program for booting up the recording device stored in readable and writable non-volatile memory at a memory map for a boot mode, in a region in volatile memory in the same address allocated to a memory map for a normal mode. The controller executes the boot program stored in the non-volatile memory on the non-volatile memory, during the storage of the boot program in the volatile memory, switches from the memory map for the boot mode to the memory map for the normal mode when the storage is complete, and executes the boot program stored in the volatile memory on the volatile memory. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
