A display device, comprising a planar waveguide optical element, a projection optical system and a micro display device (5); the use of a free-form optical device and waveguide device in the display device reduces the size of a helmet-mounted display system, and optimizes the image quality, structure and technical parameters of an optical system. The display device can be applied in the technical field of augmented reality and virtual reality.
