PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a display direction control apparatus capable of reducing a throughput for detecting the position of a person from a captured image.

SOLUTION: A display direction control apparatus comprises: an image capturing section 41 which captures an image obtained by imaging the front of a display screen S; a region determining section 42 which determines a region subjected to detection of the position of a person and a region not subjected to the detection regarding the captured image; a person detecting section 43 which detects the position of the person from the region subjected to the detection in the captured image; a person estimating section 44 which estimates the position of the person based on past detection results of the person detection section 43 regarding the region not subjected to the detection in the captured image; and a control section 45 which controls a direction of the display screen S based on the detected position of the person and the estimated position of the person.
