<p>A synergistic microbicidal composition containing a phenolic compound selected from the class consisting of chlorinated phenols, monosubstituted phenols, fused bicyclic phenols, isopropyl methyl catechols, and monosubstituted catechols and an antimicrobial alcohol selected from the class of menthadiene alcohols and other antimicrobial alcohols.</p>
