The fluidic valve (78) has valve main portions having respective fluid paths (200,202,203,209) relatively movable such that each portion of fluid paths (200,202) is selectively fluidly coupled or decoupled to each portion of fluid paths (203,209). The valve is switched to a diagnostic switching position in which leakage of fluid channels (220,224) to fluid paths (203,206) can be diagnosed, and a conditioning shift position in which the solvent is supplied to hydraulic load (28) through fluid paths (203,206) set in fluid communication with fluid path (209). The fluidic valve has valve main portions having respective fluid paths relatively movable such that each portion of fluid paths is selectively fluidly coupled or decoupled to each portion of fluid paths. The fluid paths are arranged such that the valve is selectively switched into emptying shift position (250) in which the fluid paths (203,206) are fed with solvent and the fluid paths (205,208) are connected to the drain paths (212,214), and a work shift position in which the fluid ports (203,206) are supplied with solvent and the fluid paths (204,207) are connected to sample separating paths which separate the fluid sample. The valve can be further switched to a diagnostic switching position in which leakage of fluid channels to fluid paths (203,206) can be diagnosed, and a conditioning shift position in which the solvent is supplied to a hydraulic load through the fluid paths (203,206) set in fluid communication with the fluid path (209). Independent claims are included for the following: (1) a sample separating apparatus; and (2) a method for switching of switchable fluidic valve.
