<p>Plasma polymerisation coating of a substrate in the presence of a compound of formula [I], such as maleic anhydride (with an additional monomer, such as perfluorohexane or a gas), itaconic anhydride or (trifluoromethyl) maleic anhydride, (I) where X and or Y are sulphur, phosphorus, or carbon atoms with additional linkage(s) to one or more atoms or chemical groups, which are selected from hydrogen or optionally substituted hydrocarbyl group; or alternatively X and Y together with the oxygen atom to which they are attached form part of an optionally substituted heterocyclic ring. Also disclosed is use of the coated substrate in a fuel cell.</p> |
