PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device reduced in size while quickly forming a starting gear ratio when automatically starting an internal combustion engine which is automatically stopped and automatically started. SOLUTION: An electromagnetic pump 46 is provided on a clutch C1 forming a starting forward travel first speed, not via a linear solenoid SLC1, for force feeding oil. When the engine 22 is automatically stopped, the clutch C1 is put into a low pressure condition by the linear solenoid SLC1 using hydraulic pressure from a mechanical oil pump 41 or an accumulator 45, and then the low pressure condition is held by the electromagnetic pump 46. Thus, the electromagnetic pump can be used, having a smaller physical size than a motor-driven oil pump which is provided in parallel to the mechanical oil pump 41 and driven when the engine 22 is automatically stopped, to make the clutch C1 stand by via the linear solenoid SLC1 in the low pressure condition.
