PURPOSE: A device for assigning a multi-channel in a wireless multi-hop network and a method thereof are provided to assign a plurality of channels to a part which CSMA(Carrier Sense Multiple Access) is used in a network, which is composed of multi-hop, by improving communication performance between devices in the network, thereby reducing packet collision. CONSTITUTION: A multi-channel algorithm generation unit(206) generates a multi-channel algorithm in order to successively set one of three channels corresponding to a hop number. When a network join request message is received from one or more lower layer hop devices, a control unit(204) transmits a network join response message which includes the multi-channel algorithm to a lower layer hop device.
