A vehicle light for use either as a working light, e.g. on an agricultural tractor, or as a warning light comprises a lamp unit for producing a broad high intensity beam mounted so as to direct the beam on to the work, e.g. rearwards and downwards, a lens movably supported on the mounting means for the unit so as to be movable into and out of operative position, the lens being tinted to colour and reduce the intensity of the beam and having formations to redirect the light when in operative position. In the form shown, the lamp 21 which may be of the "sealed beam" type is mounted in a casing 23 carried on a part of the vehicle, e.g. the rear fender. Pivoted to the casing 23 is a hemispherical lens 30 tinted red and provided on the inner surface with a system of horizontal prisms for bending the light upwards. The lens can be swung from the operative position shown to an inoperative position behind the casing 23.</p> |
