An elevator device wherein when the speed of the car exceeds the first overspeed threshold, a braking force control means causes a brake means to operate and controls the degree of the strength of the braking force of the brake means. A safety processing unit monitors the speed of the car independently from the braking force control means; when the speed of the car exceeds the second overspeed threshold higher than the first overspeed threshold, the safety processing unit separates the braking force control means from the brake means to invalid the control of the brake force and causes the brake means to operate. |
