<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize recovery of fuel cell performance safely, simply and certainly without carrying out fuel introduction into an oxidant electrode and various severe controls. <P>SOLUTION: Operation of fuel cell of a solid polymer fuel cell FC is shut down and pure water is supplied to the fuel cell FC from piping 4 to a passage on current collector 26 side which becomes an oxidant electrode at the operation of the fuel cell. Electric power is supplied to the current collectors 25, 26 so as to flow current from the outside power source 15 in reverse direction from the operation time of the fuel cell, and the pure water is electrolyzed, thereby, the performance of the fuel cell FC is recovered. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT |
