Dialkyl ether compounds (I) are new. Dialkyl ether compounds of formula (R 1>-O-R 2>) (I) are new. R 1> : 10-22C-alkyl, which contains at least a branch in position 1-4 of O; and R 2> : 1-13C-alkyl, where the total number of C in R 1>and R 2>is 11-23. An independent claim is included for a cosmetic and/or pharmaceutical composition comprising 0.1-95 wt.% of (I) in a carrier.
