PURPOSE: A method for treating a byproduct is provided to stably process a slag by suppressing possibility of environmental contamination due to elution of a barium through easily processing the barium in the slag to BaSO4 or BaSO3. CONSTITUTION: A method for treating a byproduct comprises the following steps: a step of preparing solvent containing one of SO4 or SO3(S100); a step of generating one among BaSO4 or BaSO3 by dipping a slag in the solvent(S200); and a step of separating the solvent and precipitate(S300).
