<p>An energy converter for outputting electrical energy is introduced. The energy converter has a plurality of converter sections (90-1, 90-2, 90-3). Each converter section (90-1, 90-2, 90-3) comprises at least one first converter cell module (70-1, 70-2) and one second converter cell module (80-1, 80-2), wherein the first and second converter cell modules (70-1, 70-2; 80-1, 80-2) each contain at least one converter cell (11) and one coupling unit (30, 50). The at least one converter cell (11) of the converter cell modules (70-1, 70-2, 80-1, 80-2) is connected between a first input (31, 51) and a second input (32, 52) of the coupling unit (30, 50), and the coupling unit (30, 50) is designed to connect the at least one converter cell (11) between a first terminal (41, 61) of the converter cell module (70-1, 70-2; 80-1, 80-2) and a second terminal (42, 62) of the converter cell module (70-1, 70-2; 80-1, 80-2) in response to a first control signal, and to connect the first terminal (41, 61) to the second terminal (42, 62) in response to a second control signal. According to the invention, the at least one converter cell (11) of the first converter cell modules (70-1, 70-2) is connected in a first polarity between the first input (31, 51) and the second input (32, 52) of the coupling unit (30, 50) of the respective first converter cell module (70-1, 70-2), and the at least one converter cell (11) of the second converter cell modules (80-1, 80-2) is connected in a second polarity, which is opposite the first polarity, between the first input (31, 51) and the second input (32, 52) of the coupling unit (30, 50) of the respective second converter cell module (80-1, 80-2). The invention also relates to a motor vehicle having an energy converter such as this, and to a method for supplying an electrical drive system.</p> |
