The invention relates to a connection device 3 for connecting a battery 2 to an electric or hybrid motor vehicle, comprising at least one input 3a capable of being connected to a first terminal 2a of the battery and at least one output 3b capable of being linked to a first terminal of an electric circuit of the vehicle. The device 3 also comprises: a device for measuring the voltage 7 between the first terminal 2a of the battery and a reference potential 15, and a control unit 14 capable of receiving the voltage values measured by the device for measuring the voltage 7, capable of determining an isolation resistance between the first terminal 2a of the battery and the reference potential 15, and capable of linking or of keeping linked the first terminal 2a of the battery and the first terminal of the electric circuit when the said isolation resistance is greater than a determined threshold. The invention also relates to a battery case 1 comprising such a connection device, and a method of controlling such a battery case 1.
