The appliance may include a hydraulic circuit and a stationary screening apparatus which has a screening face, which is arranged in the hydraulic circuit, for filtering recirculated washing water. In an exemplary embodiment of the invention, the screening face is formed so as to generate transverse flows which are directed transverse to the passage-flow direction of the screening face.
