<p>PURPOSE: A method for encoding and decoding an image and a device thereof are provided to reduce processing object information amount when image information is encoded and decoded, thereby increasing efficiency of image information processing. CONSTITUTION: An encoder determines a mode which is applied to a current block and determines used candidates when prediction is performed through the mode(S1910). The encoder comprises a parameter set(S1920). The parameter set includes information for an integration mode used for the prediction of the current block and information for the candidates of the integration mode.
