摘要 PURPOSE: A method for manufacturing a hollow drive shaft for a constant velocity joint is provided to satisfy concentricity after machining for a multi-stepped and complicated shape, thereby satisfying NVH(Noise-Vibration-Harshness) properties such as noise and vibration, and improving the running performance and fuel efficiency. CONSTITUTION: A method for manufacturing a hollow drive shaft for a constant velocity joint comprises: a preliminary step of preparing a pipe material by cutting in a prescribed length; a first radial forging step of molding the center portion of a prepared blank through the preliminary step into an external and an internal diameter portion by a radial forging method; a second radial forging step of molding the external diameter portion of one end of the drive shaft, and at the same time molding the stepped internal diameter portion of the drive shaft by the radial forging method; a third radial forging step of molding the external diameter portion of the other end of the drive shaft, and at the same time molding the stepped internal diameter portion of the drive shaft by the radial forging method; a tooth molding step of implementing a tooth shape portion molding on both sides of the drive shaft; a heat-treating step of applying a high frequency heat-treatment to the tooth shape portions; and a post-treating step of checking the tolerance, the concentricity, and so on of a product.
