An electrode, an electrode assembly with the electrode, an electrochemical cell with the electrode, a battery with the electrode, an air depolarized cell with the electrode and a method making the air depolarized cell are provided. The electrode includes at least one porous fluoropolymer layer and at least one discontinuous thermoplastic layer, wherein the at least one discontinuous thermoplastic layer adheres the at least one porous fluoropolymer layer to a major surface of the electroactive layer.
