PURPOSE: An active air flap malfunction determination method is provided to minimize a field claim through control system optimized logic of an active air flap. CONSTITUTION: An active air flap malfunction determination method comprises the steps of: determining whether an air flap is unable to open(S100); constantly checking the variation of an engine cooling water temperature when the air flap is unable to open(S110) for not warning when the variation is at a reference variation level or less(S120); and only warning when the engine cooling water temperature variation is at the reference variation level or more and a time for reaching to the reference variation level is less than the reference water temperature time(S130,S140).
