PURPOSE: Subtitle object processing device and method are provided to precisely synthesize a subtitle to a basic image by processing a subtitle object using a luminance threshold. CONSTITUTION: If a luminance value is smaller than a luminance threshold, a subtitle object processing device updates the luminance value to be the same or greater than the luminance threshold. If the luminance value is the same or greater than the luminance threshold, the device designates the luminance value as the final luminance value of the subtitle object(S200). The device outputs the subtitle object having the final luminance value(S300).
