<p>The present invention provides bearing steel, comprising a chemical composition including by mass %, C: 0.56 % ‰¤ [%C] ‰¤ 0.70 %, Si: 0.15 % ‰¤ [%Si] < 0.50 %, Mn: 0.60 % ‰¤ [%Mn] ‰¤ 1.50 %, Cr: 0.50 % ‰¤ [%Cr] ‰¤ 1.10 %, Mo: 0.05 % ‰¤ [%Mo] ‰¤ 0.5 %, P: [%P] ‰¤ 0.025 %, S: [%S] ‰¤ 0.025 %, Al: 0.005 % ‰¤ [%Al] ‰¤ 0.500 %, O: [%O] ‰¤ 0.0015 %, N: 0.0030 % ‰¤ [%N] ‰¤ 0.015 %, and remainder as Fe and incidental impurities, wherein "[%M]" represents content (mass %) of component M, "eutectic carbide formation index Ec" represented by following formula (1) is in the range of 0 < Ec ‰¤ 0.25, and "degree of segregation" represented by following formula (2) is equal to or less than 2.8 in the bearing steel.
