<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a tether clip capable of reducing a load applied to a root of a tether section when a lateral load is applied, and further provide a garnish mounting device provided with the same. <P>SOLUTION: The tether clip 10 includes a seat 50, a tether section 20 rising from the seat 50, an anchor 30 linked to the tether section 20, and an engagement holder 40 rising on the same side of the tether section 20 on both sides of the tether section 20. The tether section 20 and the engagement holder 40 are separated from each other at least at an apical end of the engagement holder 40. The thickness of the tether section 20 is thinner than an outer dimension of the engagement holder 40. An R section 26 is provided in the root 20a of the tether section 20. The garnish mounting device 70 is mounted on a pillar by the tether clip 10. The structure allows the load applied to the root 20a of the tether section 20 to be lowered.
